GEOLOGIC ADVENTURER SKILL

undergraduate +

The Undergraduate geologist adventurer is capable of hiking 2-6 miles daily.  Trails are generally maintained and have 1500 feet or less of change in elevation.  Your backpack will weigh between 20-35 lbs.  Undergraduate time traveling hikers must be healthy and relatively fit.  Previous camping experience is a good idea, but not required.

Create your personal Michelin-Rated restaurant in the solitude and scenery of locations such as Sedona, Lake Powell, Sunset Volcano, and the Superstition or Santa Catalina Mountains.

The ultimate private, outdoor, fine dining experience.  Canyons and Chefs creates an unparallelled and unforgetable experience, using Earth’s culinary and scenic bounty as a backdrop for your outstanding gastronomic adventure.  Bistro lighting, screened-in dining tables, and unmatched ambiance elevate our multi-course (5-7) dinner with Chef’s expert wine pairings.  Dinner is followed by a self-guided (literature provided) sunset stroll, and guests have the option of on-site, overnight, luxury backcountry accommodation.  Maximum 12 guests

COMFORT RATINGS

FITNESS
Hikers should have the ability to hike on and off marked trails, to scramble over obstacles and/or barriers with frequent changes in elevation for up to 14 miles per day, carrying medium sized packs of gear. All hikes are one-way, except in case of emergency, and are traveled at a steady walking pace with breaks.
COMFORT

Now this is camping!  Many meals will consist of multi-course, freshly-prepared, restaurant quality meals with wine/drink pairings served on clothed tables.  Accommodations are very comfortable with large tents, raised cots/beds, solar showers, and private bathrooms.

SOLITUDE

While hikers will pass through areas popular with tourists, they will spend most of the time in areas specially selected to be off the beaten path.  There will be practically no wait time or crowds anywhere past the trail-heads. Overnighting is private and remote.
